1/ Explain how you got started on the global electro.

My curiosity to learn different training methods or tools, added to the use of analytical electro-stimulation (compex) as a user, both for recovery and passive toning, made me interested in this type of training. At that time Ivan Perujo had a centre in Villa Nueva de la Cañada dedicated exclusively to global electro-stimulation. After several visits and training sessions, my partner Eva and I decided to enter this world of training with global electro-stimulation.

 

2/ How long have you been working with EMS:?

We began this journey in early 2013, with the acquisition of two machines of the brand EFIT, later on about 2016 we acquired four more machines of the brand Wiemspro, so we currently have six electrostimulation machines.

3/ Tell us about your center, when you open it, because, objectives, you work alone?

2013 we decided to set up a personal training centre, where we offer different services, all of them based on personal training, nutrition, planning and personal training with and without electro-stimulation. We wanted to give service to those people who are looking for a more personalized training based on specific objectives or are concerned about their health. In our center I work with my partner Eva, we also have the nutrition service of our colleague Elisabeth.

 

4/ Anecdotes with your clients, successful cases for some reason

It is clear that every objective achieved always has its gratification, as always most clients look for you for physical-aesthetic reasons, but there are always cases that are very rewarding not only at a professional level.

One of them is our friend Manu (paralympic swimmer), who shared some years with us, in which our goal was to achieve a better muscle tone and blood flow in his lower body, since due to his functional diversity he has to move around in a wheelchair. In this case, he not only improved his performance, but he also gave us many values to improve and be positive about life. Other cases are those related to health. Joaquin or Veronica, (diabetics) who managed to improve their blood glucose levels and therefore lower their insulin doses. Also Carmen and Gloria, two girls with mom’s cancer who came authorized by their oncologist to not only improve their muscle tone but also their mood to fight this terrible disease.

They are many years and many clients, so I could count many cases and all very pleasant both personally and professionally.

5/ Why do you believe in EMS?

With a good training, it is a very interesting tool both on an aesthetic and health level.

On an aesthetic level, it achieves great results, eliminates cellulite, improves elasticity, blood circulation, muscle tone and the acceleration of our basal metabolism, with the benefits that this entails when it comes to losing weight.

Muscle work or recovery, is very versatile so it allows you to work in its different variants, both concentric and eccentric and isometric, both with and without external load, so it helps us a lot to trainers in our work. Also its use for muscle recovery after our race, bike training, or intense training, shortening the recovery time and therefore being able to shorten the time to retrain.

And finally the most recommended, health. Not everyone wants to have a body 10 or want to run a marathon, but they do need to have quality of life (back pain, physical fatigue, difficulty to do daily functions) I believe that it is possible to improve a lot the health in people of all types and age, saving very specific cases, not everything works for everyone, but in most cases it is very advisable.

 

6/ as you see the EMS market.

I think its beginnings were not the most advisable,

promising miracles with only 20 minutes a week,

lack of training by the coaches,

working with pre-determined programs for all clients, one of the first rules of personal training, each person needs to personalize his training and his evolution, a lot of misleading advertising by the manufacturer, etc

But still I think it is a training tool that has come to stay because with a good training from the coaches, it is really very advisable as part of your training or as a unique training, in the latter case I give a little reasoning. For years many clients have passed through our centers which came with very difficult objectives to achieve because they involve a very balanced life, almost daily training and very specific nutrition, so they ended up giving up their goals, but in those cases many clients found a training method that helped them feel good, so they changed their goals and were based on having a better quality of life, so I think that those people who will not be hours in a gym, running, etc. .. this type of training brings them many physical benefits, but this is my personal opinion, I advise that physical activity should be part of our life.
